Parent/Family Programs 

While most of the conference programs are designed for both student and family members, the following programs are designed specifically for families. These are held concurrent to other conference programs.

These are the programs offered during the Freshman Summer New Student Conferences. Due to limited time availability, some of these programs may not be offered during our Transfer Student or January conferences.

Family Check-In
Family members are asked to check-in in order to receive a family New Student Conference Schedule and a Family Handbook which will assist you during the conference and beyond.

College 101
Family members hear about the academic expectations and registration information that students are given.  Staff from the Offices of Dean of Student Life presents University expectations, rules and regulations.

Partners in Success
The Offices of the Dean Student Life presentation on challenges for first-year students and how the university and families can prepare for and overcome them, specifically addressing discipline and alcohol/drug issues.

Parent Socials Image

Being an Aggie Parent
This is a chance for parents to relax and take a break from the hectic schedule and visit with faculty, staff, Orientation Leaders, and other parents. Representatives from the Federation of Aggie Mom's will also be on hand.

Being an Aggie Parent:  Q&A with Current Aggies 
In an unscripted panel format, parents get a chance to ask current Aggies questions about their experiences at Texas A&M.

Parent's On-Campus Housing Session
Meet with staff from the Residence Halls. You will hear about life on campus and you will have an opportunity to ask questions.
