New Aggies

Welcome New Aggies!

The Office of New Student Programs has designed your New Student Conference to give all of our new Aggies an opportunity to learn more about Texas A&M University services and resources, get a sense of the social culture on campus and schedule classes. We believe that success during your first semester will set the tone for your future. As a new undergraduate student, you are required to register and attend a New Student Conference in order to register for classes. Your family is encouraged to attend the conference with you to participate in programs designed for family members and learn more about what you will be experiencing as a new Aggie. Attendance at your New Student Conference is mandatory.

In addition to attending your New Student Conference, you have the option of attending one or more of our Extended Orientation Programs such as Fish Camp, T-Camp (Transfer Camp), or ExCEL. These programs are designed to acquaint you with the history and tradition of Texas A&M, student life and campus services. To learn more about extended orientation at Texas A&M, click here.

Graduate students are not required to attend the New Student Conference and have additional orientation requirements and additional extended orientation opportunities to select from. Please click here for additional information.

Welcome to Aggieland!

New Student Conference Registration

Registration for New Student Conferences for students admitted for the Summer or Fall 2012 semester opened at midnight on February 1. To register for your NSC, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Review the New Student Conference Registration Brochure before selecting your conference date.

  • New Student Conference Registration Brochure for FRESHMEN admitted for the Fall semester - click here
  • New Student Conference Registration Brochure for TRANSFERS admitted for the Summer or Fall semester - click here

In choosing your conference dates, please consider the following:

  • Freshmen planning to attend a conference in August should be aware that some conference dates may overlap with sessions of Fish Camp. If you choose to attend Fish Camp, you must select a date that does not conflict with your New Student Conference.
  • Sorority recruitment conflicts with the August conference. If you attend the August conference, you may not participate in sorority recruiment.
  • If you are going to be in the Corps of Cadets, Freshman Orientation Week (FOW) conflicts with the August conference. You are strongly encouraged to attend an earlier conference. If you attend the August conference, you must attend conference programs even if you are participating in FOW.
  • Veterans or military students are welcome to attend any of the New Student Conferences; however, there are four Freshman NSCs designated with specific optional evening programs for veterans or military students. If you are unable to attend one of the three listed sessions, make sure to check in with Veteran Services at your NSC. Those dates are June 21-22, June 28-29, July 17-18 and August 21-22.

Step 2: Register online at http://applicant.tamu.edu. You will need your NetID and Password.

  • Login to the Applicant Information System (AIS) to register for your conference.
  • Your confirmation page will provide you with the information you need to sign up for conference housing and purchase a New Student Conference Parking Permit.

If you are still unable to register, please contact the Office of Admissions by email or by phone at 979-845-1060, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
