FRASIER JORDAN ’21
Orientation Team Leader | Biology Major

The New Student Conference (NSC) is a mandatory orientation that all incoming students at A&M attend. The NSC is where students learn about the A&M college experience and meet new people, who are also joining the Aggie family.
The NSC serves as the official welcome to Texas A&M University. The Orientation Leaders (OLs), a part of the Aggie Orientation Leader Program, strive to create a welcoming and exciting environment for students, their family members, and their guests.
The NSC experience is truly what the participants put into it. As an OL, it is always rewarding to see people at the NSC smiling, laughing, and engaging with others around them, so be sure to bring this enthusiasm and participation to your NSC.
We know that there might be some meetings with important, but not necessarily fun information, but know that this information is valuable. After the meetings, you get to eat some good food and have dialogue with your OL and small group.
The greatest piece of advice I can give you about going into your NSC is to be ready to create great memories, meet new people, and learn a lot of pertinent information. Do not worry about what others think or about feeling left out, because the OLs work hard to make sure everyone feels included.
Most importantly, come to your NSC and soak up the moment because at the NSC, you are not just any college student or another number on a sheet; you are finally becoming what you were always supposed to be—an Aggie.
