First let me begin by welcoming all of you to the Aggie Family. Whether you are a first generation student (like me!) or you have sung the War Hymn as a nursery rhyme, you are all an essential part of our Aggie Family and we welcome you with open arms.
We are privileged to attend such an incredible institution and you should take pride in it. Your journey to get here was only the beginning, now it is up to you to take advantage of all the possibilities for growth and learning provided to you both inside and outside of the classroom.
Student Perspective on New Student Conferences
FRASIER JORDAN ’21
Orientation Team Leader | Biology Major

The New Student Conference (NSC) is a mandatory orientation that all incoming students at A&M attend. The NSC is where students learn about the A&M college experience and meet new people, who are also joining the Aggie family.
The NSC serves as the official welcome to Texas A&M University. The Orientation Leaders (OLs), a part of the Aggie Orientation Leader Program, strive to create a welcoming and exciting environment for students, their family members, and their guests.
The NSC experience is truly what the participants put into it. As an OL, it is always rewarding to see people at the NSC smiling, laughing, and engaging with others around them, so be sure to bring this enthusiasm and participation to your NSC.

Info on Housing
Questions on where to live? Here’s some helpful information to get you started.
On-Campus Housing: Residence Life provides a welcoming, educational, and sustainable community living at the heart of the Aggie experience. Residence Life’s goal is to provide an array of programs, campus experience, and easy to access facilities while living on campus. Through these services, it allows a student to maximize the overall academic experience. On campus housing encompasses initiatives including study spaces, faculty engagement, and academic achievement events.
On campus housing is home to approximately 11,000 Aggies (including Corps of Cadets). Students have the option of residence halls and university apartments. Residence Life offers six different types or styles of residence hall living spaces: balcony style, corridor style, commons style, modular style, ramp style, and Hullabaloo. Members of the Corps must reside in the Corps resident hall unless approved by the Commandant. Applications and more information can be found at Housing & Res. Life.
