This or That?

November 18, 2019 by Alex Hersperger

Life is full of decisions, and you’ve already made the important one to become an Aggie. Your options in Aggieland for parking, activities, and food are almost endless, so we asked current students to share their favorites in head-to-head showdowns between some of the most popular choices. Let’s meet our brave student pickers:

Callie Pearson ’19
Alexsa Hernandez ’21
Michael Mayfield ’20

Let’s see what they had to say!

Parking Lot or Parking Garage

Callie: Parking lot because it’s cheaper!

Alexsa: Personally, I like parking garages better than parking lots because more often than not they are closer to central campus, it protects my car from rain or hail, and lastly in the summer time it keeps my car nice and cool.

Michael: Parking lot because it is much easier to get in and out of.

Football or Basketball

Callie: Football!!! This is Texas where football is king plus you get to see the Famous Aggie Band.

Alexsa: Football is better than basketball because it reminds me of fall, which is my favorite season, and because we have midnight yell the night before which is always really fun.

Michael: Basketball because I love college basketball and March Madness

Torchy’s or Fuego

Callie: Torchy’s all the way! Better tacos and better queso, so just better all around.

Alexsa: Fuego all the way!!!! They have the best queso and they are open 24 hours which is perfect for those late nights.

Michael: Fuego because they have the world’s best queso and because their “Chicken and Waffle taco” is amazing!

Layne’s or Cane’s

Callie: Layne’s because you get more bang for your buck!

Alexsa: Cane’s over Layne’s because they have the best sauce, the best quality chicken, and the best bread between the two.

Michael: Layne’s has better sauce but Cane’s has better bread and fries.

Now that you’ve seen a few students’ answers to our “this or that,” it’s your turn to decide! Here are your choices:

  • Parking lot or parking garage
  • Football or basketball
  • Torchy’s or Fuego
  • Layne’s or Cane’s
