Beyond Your NSC
Your transition to Texas A&M does not end with your NSC. Once you have registered for classes, reserved your textbooks, and received your ID card, here's a few things you'll want to do:
- Complete a New Student Conference Evaluation. You will receive an email to your TAMU email account which will include a link to the student evaluation.
- Update your local address and telephone number on howdy.tamu.edu
- Determine when your tuition and fee payment is due by visiting sbs.tamu.edu/resources/important-dates
- Finalize your plans for relocation to Bryan/College Station and Texas A&M University
Extended Orientation
Consider attending one or more of the following supplemental orientation programs to learn more about the Aggieland community and your place here:
Fish Camp
Fish Camp is a three-day extended orientation program that occurs in the weeks preceding the fall semester for incoming first-time in college freshmen. Fish Camp offers an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of being a new Aggie on campus. In three days, you will connect with other new Aggies and peer leaders, learn about the resources needed to be a successful student and learn all of the traditions and values needed to be a loud and proud member of your Fightin’ Texas Aggie class.
ExCEL
Excellence uniting Culture, Education, and Leadership (ExCEL) is a student organization and student success program designed to help new students find academic, social, and personal balance at Texas A&M. ExCEL has assisted thousands of students in making a smooth transition to college by orienting new students to the program through a conference during Howdy Week, cultivating relationships with peers and mentors, providing a sense of belonging through cultural engagement, offering academic support, and serving as a resource for transitioning into Aggie life.
T-Camp
Transition Camp, known as T-Camp, is a three-day extended orientation program hosted by Aggie Transition Camps that introduces new students to the many opportunities at Texas A&M and the long-standing traditions that embody the true meaning of being an Aggie. The camp gives transfer and other non-traditional students the opportunity to meet fellow students and learn more about life at Texas A&M.
Howdy Week
Howdy Week is Aggieland's official welcome and takes place on campus during the week before classes start. Howdy Week events provide students with an opportunity to learn more about campus, each other, and college life in general through a series of educational and social events sponsored by University departments, colleges, registered student organizations, residence halls, and community members.
